TFTC Hosts Spring 2026 Events, Including First Executive Committee Meeting in Washington

The Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC) hosted a series of events in June, including a two-day engagement in Washington, D.C. – the first TFTC Executive Committee meeting hosted in the United States.

On June 17, the TFTC convened its Executive Committee meeting at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in Washington, D.C.  Member states discussed shared priorities and ongoing efforts to counter terrorist financing.  The meeting also included an information-sharing session on terrorist financing activity and disruption efforts, with presentations from the United States, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, and the State of Qatar.

On June 18, the TFTC hosted GCC and U.S. participants for presentations on U.S. tools, authorities, typologies, and policy priorities related to terrorist financing and sanctions evasion.  The session included remarks from Assistant Secretary for Terrorist Financing Jonathan Burke and presentations from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, Office of Foreign Assets Control, Office of Intelligence and Analysis, and Office of Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes.

On June 23, the TFTC hosted a virtual capacity-building session for current TFTC Fellows, alumni, and relevant authorities across all seven member states on terrorist exploitation of commodity supply chains.  More than 110 participants discussed typologies and investigative approaches related to global trade, precious metals and stones, and other high-value goods.  The session included presentations from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services.

Through these engagements, the TFTC advanced practical cooperation among member states on emerging terrorist financing risks, sanctions evasion methods, and investigative approaches.  The TFTC will continue to support coordinated action, information sharing, and capacity building to strengthen collective efforts to counter terrorist financing.
